Dr. Fesial Adatia
Dr. Feisal Adatia

Dr. Adatia is a Medical and Surgical Retina specialist. He is also a Cataract surgeon.  He did his medical school and residency training at the University of Toronto. He completed a medical retina fellowship and was a surgical retina locum fellow at the prestigious Moorfields Eye Hospital in the UK; he was the only accepted Canadian during his medical retina fellowship. Dr. Adatia then moved to Calgary where he completed a surgical retina fellowship.  He and his wife liked Calgary so much that they decided to stay.

 

Dr. Adatia’s specialized training in Medical and Surgical Retina allow him to diagnose and treat: Age Related Macular Degeneration, Diabetic Retinopathy, Retinal Vein Occlusions, Epiretinal Membranes, Macular Holes, Retinal Tears, Detachments and other Retinal Conditions. Dr. Adatia has full hospital privileges in the Calgary region and has been practicing since 2010.  He works full-time at the Mitchell Eye Centre and operates out of both the Holy Cross Hospital and the Rockyview Hospital.

 

Of note, Dr. Adatia completed a Masters in Diabetes research, and was a gold medalist, placing first, in his undergraduate studies.  He has received 33 awards, grants or scholarships, including 8 first place research awards and has 37 publications submitted or in press. He is currently a clinical assistant Professor at the University of Calgary and the Director of Research in the Division of Ophthalmology. 

Dr. Adatia has four beautiful children with whom he likes to spend most of his spare time.  He also has a keen interest technology and gadgets, likes to travel and listen to music.

 

He is currently accepting all retina and cataract referrals.
